Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Quote: Here's our floor plan:

The whole area is 96 square meters, but the sauna area takes about a third of that (on the right), leaving about 70 square meters for the living quarters. I usually keep the office and bedroom door shut, which further brings the cleanup area to about 50 square meters, or about 550 square feet. With the dogs dropping so much hair, we like to keep it running every weekday. It really helps keep the dust in check. If you don't have animals inside, it doesn't need to run as often. I think it takes it between 1 and 2 hours to do that, but it needs to work around a lot of obstacles with the way our layout is set, and the furniture makes for some obstacles. With more open spaces, it's quicker.

The reflective surfaces are a problem, because it uses a laser radar to map the space it moves in, and it gets confused with shiny metal, mirrors or things like motorcycle helmet visors.

We have a Roomba. The grandson's ferret was out and about the house and I heard the starting tone. He was standing there looking amazed. As soon as it started backing out of the dock he ran into the adjoining room. It followed. I walked in just in time to see him standing in the hallway peeking around the corner obviously puzzled about this monster. The moral of the story is that even a ferret can do the housework woth one of these.

Hi, I'm also a coffee drinker. Grew up on it. Some do taste like they smell. Try Gevalia Peruvian Organic. One of the best coffee's I've ever drank.

Welcome to BYC . I would like to try some of that.

Frizzle is a dominant trait, but it's also something that has a cumulative effect. One copy of the frizzle gene, and one of smooth, is a frizzled bird. Two copies of the frizzled gene is something that some call "frazzled," a bird with very brittle feathers that tend to break off easily; in other words, a mess that most reputable breeders try to avoid producing. Unless these hatcheries are breeding a half-naked Frazzled roo over smooth hens, I'm betting that roughly half of those "frizzled" chicks will wind up smooth.

Thanks for the info; that frizzle/frazzle stuff is extremely important!!!

I didn't think of the possibility of some of them ending up smooth instead of frizzled. =)

what about black bantam leghorns??? pretty pretty!

DD wants something friendly. Leghorns have a reputation around here for being particularly unfriendly.

wow.....should I try to see if I can triple post????

That is a great story!

That is Katee all 2000 lbs of her.... shes a Percheron Draft horse. about the size of a Clydesdale. and thats her Birfday hat.... She had just turned sixteen... it was kind of a sweet sixteen party... We had a buket of Cawats and Beet pulp and Bran smooshed with water... Boy oh boy she mumbled and groaned the whole way snarfin that stuff up and every once and a while CRUNCH and shed come up to chew a carrot.

Of course the picture was before the slop....um er Birfday kake.... Horsy style. She turned twenty this year. which is just a little past middle age for a horse.

deb

Well, I think that's a fantastic Birfday hat!!! I'm glad she enjoyed her Birfday kake too! Congratulations to her. =)

I wonder how Egg nog tastes as coffee creamer.....

deb

Starbuck's makes an Eggnog latte in the winter. They offer it hot, but DH only drinks it iced (b/c they don't cook his eggnog that way).
Personally, I only drink eggnog with spiced rum or cocoa in it.

@Alaskan , I missed the comment about calories and the eggnog. I haven't seen it in our stores yet, but I don't think it's as popular here as it is other places.

did you hiccup or sumtin?

Or Sumatras are considered bantams.... Most hatcheries wont let you order pullets though... just straight run.

deb

Yeah, the straight run part is a hitch in this plan, b/c it means we're basically paying double for the females (b/c we're not keeping the boys).
Anyway, we were able to tell pretty early on with the Cochin Bantams that were Phil's original flock. So, we'll separate them early and DD can take care of the ones we think might be girls and I'll take care of the ones we're pretty sure are boys, that way she doesn't get attached to boys (they seem to endear themselves to her somehow). And when they're old enough we're sure who's what, we'll get rid of the boys somehow.

Speaking of which, she and I need to get going on building Phil a tractor. He's already trying to mate with my NH pullets!

And he doesn't listen when I tell him they're too big for him.
Men!

Oooh how about in french toast..... whip a little with the eggs and add in a little more spice.... OH yummmy..

I just bought some sour dough bread for french toast.... I need to make some for dinner tomorrow. (I dont cook breakfast... um er I only cook breakfast for dinner)

deb

Oh, we made stuffed french toast for DH's birthday. Good stuff!!! Egg-specially with my home laid eggs!!!
Sour dough for French toast??? Hmmmm I've made savory "French toast" for dinner for my girls before. They didn't eat much, but I liked it. But then, I don't cook b/c no one wants to eat it, and they can all cook great, so I'm having a really hard time losing weight!!!... Guess that was a bit of a rabbit trail, huh...

No, only 476....

??? 476 of what? Calories?
Nothing at Starbuck's has calories (otherwise I go way over and can't eat there).

If you should so happen to be near a Starbucks, try their eggnog latte! It's really good!

Yeah, what JW12 said!
