Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Just came in from putting the chooks to bed. It was crisp and calm so I decided to grab my cup and lean on the porch rail for a bit. The sun sets more in the south than the west up here this time of year and the last of it was reds and oranges thru the trees over my shoulder. Overhead already hung a bright moon in a clear sky. Not good. Just tells me the weather man was right and its going to be another cold one. The nip in the air, my empty cup,,,, and the yelping of the coyotes in the woods on the far side of our meadow was telling me it was time to go inside for a refill.

A warm safe evening everyone.
-sounds absolutely divine.... -nothing better than the crisp, cool autumn air, a lovely sunset, and a cup of coffee. Nature is splendid - every season. (Coffee is splendid - every season

If I leaned on my porch rail this morning. I probably would have froze to it. So instead, I fire up the wood stove in the morning and grab a cup of coffee. This morning it was 16 F. :>(

Yep, here too! That lovely picture was last night. This morning I haven't even opened the coop yet. Waiting for the windchill to get out of the single digits...tho I don't think we got below 10o overnight. We were saved by a cloud bank rolling in before dawn.

Good crispy morning everyone :caf. Hope your coffee is good today :)

Are you telling me that the sun isn't supposed to always be South?

It rises in the South, just a touch to the East, and then travels along the Southern mountain tops all day long, then sets in the South, just a touch West, right over the volcano. Yesterday the way the clouds were sitting it made a giant blazing lava ball of sunset beauty right on top of the volcano.

COOL!!!!

....or hot, I guess.

You need to get a camera. You must share these things with those of us who have no volcanoes.

Of course, I say that, then look out the window thinking "sure it is ten OK, should still get some great sunrise colors"

But nope.....super overcast, I can see a little strip of water...but that is it, no mountains.

So, I grabbed a kid, said "take a really pretty picture" and the child took a picture of the wood stove. This is our first day heating the house with something other than vole power, so the kids are very excited. Anyway, the second picture is the cloudy view...maybe better luck tomorrow.
