Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

We killed and plucked (gasp wheeze pant) a goose today, so that it will be just right for Christmas day festivities.

I am drooling most over the thought of the gravy.

Mmmmmmm mmm! -love some goose!!!

Good morning everyone!!! -safe travels to any and all that might be venturing to visit family or friends, and those traversing to church services!!! -a very, Merry Christmas!!!

-now, time for some peppermint mocha coffee....

Merry Christmas eve everyone!!!!!

Yes, oddly way up here we have what's been chosen as the best butcher shop in the state and boy they have earned it, everything they do is yummy!!!! It's just a small building just north of town and if you didn't know you'd drive right by but folks plan their vacation routes so they can stop there. Yesterday they were busy with folks like us and those picking up their Christmas hams and smoked turkeys (never tried that but folks say it is good) anyway, the smells when you get out of th e car is enough to make your mouth water!

ACTUAL TEMP -22 this morning (windchill a lovely -40) so needless to say we are not going anywhere. Church tonight may be a no go as well, I hope not, sigh. No company this year so it's just pa and I and the critters. We did used to do "the loop" driving south to hit several of the kids houses, then they started trying to have everyone meet at one house and that worked for a few years but as the family grew, children marrying and having children, in-laws, out-laws, (hehehe) etc people moving further away, you get the picture. Pa and I are just getting a little old to road trip so our annual family gathering is usually on pa' s birthday in the summer and of course hunting season.

Praying the season finds you all safe, warm and wrapped in the love of family and friends.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!

Fresh Sausage is always much better than that you get in the grocery store. We have a couple of local markets woith really good meats. The make their own sausage and smoke hams and sausageetc.

Have to admit I have never had a goose. Hmmm, might need to have a talk with our butcher about New Years!

We made it to church!!! They had an early service and we were able to get home well ahead of the snow :D

Now I am all snuggled in with my puppy asleep on my lap. A VERY PEACEFUL EVE EVERYONE!
