Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

My Aunt makes a KILLER Chocolate BOURBON pecan pie!!!!!!!
We visited Big Meadows section of Shenandoah National Park and remember the Pecan Pie. I remember the recipe contained bourbon. I did an internet search and found the information below:

Big Meadows Lodge in Shenandoah National Park
Mile 51.2, Skyline Dr.
Luray, VA 22835

Historian Babs Melton, director of the Museum of American Presidents, takes tea sippers on a journey through the history of two of America's most spirited women - Lou Hoover & Eleanor Roosevelt - while desserts from the First Ladies' favorite recipes and a variety of teas are served. You'll enjoy Lou Hoover's Apricot Mousse and Eleanor Roosevelt's Pecan Pie.

We are at a balmy 2. Low was -10. Medium wind at 20 mph or so.

Saw the weather this morning! Y'all be careful! Looks rough! I won't complain anymore! Well, I'm sure I will, but I shouldn't! Just hope the weather gets better for ALL of us soon.

You can complain. That's OK. I know I would. We all expect our weather to be normal for our area. This year nothing has been even close to normal. So feel free to "curse" the weather so to speak.

We had gotten up to temps in the 50s and 60s for a few days. My new flock immediately started picking up the pace and went from 4-6 eggs a day to 6-10 eggs a day! The cold snap hit us again and they immediately slowed back down to 5-7 a day for the last few days in 30s and teens last night! Maybe they need some hot coffee.

'Bone chilling' is appropriate verbage.  Single digits HURT my old hands.  Negative temps , and they would probably freeze and shatter.  In 2011 we had an early winter snow storm (leaves still on the trees) that knocked out the power for a week.  Then in 2012 exactly one year later Sandy knocked out the power for ten days.  Last year we installed a generator big enough to handle the whole house plus a propane tank that should last up to 2 weeks.  Not wishing bad on anyone else, but I no longer care if we lose power.  It's a good feeling.  After 3 or 4 days of no power/washing the Princess no longer wants to snuggle with me.  That's unacceptable.  ;)

You ole softy! ;)
