Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I'll have to tell DH about this. We already grind our own beans; I can't imagine him not wanting to fresh roast them too.
Thanks!!!
To people that roast beans, they are considered fresh for 7 to 10 days. Anything older is not fresh not matter how you store them.

They are best at 3 days after roasting....They are amazingly good!

Oh yes, you can save money over store bought whole beans.

I was going to list everyone separately but that's a long list. Soooo...

@ EVERYONE - Could we all be real life neighbors! Love having you all as my Backyard Chicken neighbors! @TeaChick I'll cut grass too! I'll be right over for coffee that @ronott1 has freshly ground 3 days ago. I drink it no matter what the temp is outside!

Pretty much that's what my cousin said. They had Chickens, Pigs, and I don't know how many hundreds of acres for me to get lost in. They said I could stay anytime, but the day starts and ends with the sun!
wow, with the sun, really??? Boy must not have had any dairy cattle. Breakfast on my granny's farm was daylight and that was figured by when you could see your way BACK from the barn.

Now that's what I think of when someone says "farmer"!!!

I emailed DH and he's looking into it.
He's the online research guru in our house.
I'm just the chicken and children guru. lol

But aren't farmers up with the sun anyway? I mean we did not squeeze another hour out of the day we just re-arranged the day. Being self employed -those early youthful years- just about killed me.
Day light was day light. We worked when it started, and stopped -sometimes- when it ended. (Those flood lights were completely over the top and he is still paying for it.)
It's a bit hard to explain but if you grew up with dairy farmers it's easier to understand. Morning chores for the most part do not require daylight, just light in the barns and workshop to get the animals and machinery ready for the day. More daylight later means more time that can actually be spent in the fields (or gardens). Yes, most new farm equipment now have high-powered lights to see where you're driving, but it's still far more dangerous to operate in the dark. That one extra hour or so can sometimes really actually make the difference between a make or break year for a small farmer depending on what the weather has done, especially in the shorter growing seasons north of the mason-dixon. Last year in WI the spring was so wet and cold for so late that when it did finally dry out that extra hour became very precious to the grain and potato farmers. BTW-most grain farmers start their days in the dark too, getting things ready for the daylight. City folks liked it too giving them more light in the evening after work in the summertime.

As for the switch back in the fall? They tried to cancel that (if you remember) but the city folk screamed about their kids going to school in the dark so the compromise struck was shortening the length of the "fall back".

Oh... There was one year that we "should" have mowed. The grass got maybe two feet tall and flowered. It was nice, gave a good "homesteading" kinda look to the place. Where we walked a lot it stayed shorter.

Yep, my house isn't very clean either.
