Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Just saw on Fox News where a poultry farm in Greenville Texas got hit HARD. His home survived (good thing because the owner's parents were inside while he was in town) but the rest of his property is a mess. Trees down, his motor home was rolled several times, etc. He thinks he lost at least half his birds. The reporter showed where the rest of his birds, including some geese, etc. are just everywhere because all his coops are just gone.

indeed.

By the time the messy weather reaches us, most of the energy is expected to be spent, so all we're likely to get is a little bit of rain.

On my home front, I'm definitely experiencing one of the classic signs (for me) of spring:

POISON IVY.

At 12 I was shoveling chicken manure for a quarter an hour, collecting bottles for refund, walking uphill to and from school for 5 miles --------------------------------

Much of the above is true.

That 5 miles was up hill to school and back.

I've had poison ivy so many times, with me, it's almost like, "poison ivy again? Or still??!" I swear, I just look at the stuff and I break out. I have an almost supernatural ability to sense its presence - I begin to recoil even before I recognize the familiar 3-leafed form and hairy stems. With so much experience with the blasted stuff, you'd think I'd be able to stay out of it, wouldn't you? Well, I can't swear to this, but this time, I suspect it may be a minor contaminant in the hay I've been feeding to the horses.

Yes, yes it was. Hagar did you graduate before or after me?

True story this - my first school had two classrooms - kindergarten thru 5th grade in one room, and 6th thru 8th grade in the other. Bathroom was a slightly modernized outhouse located separate from the school. Yep, it was all good until they sent us to the 'sending district'. That's where I got stuffed into the trash can.
