Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I got one of these to haul my feed from the drive to the feed room and my feed buckets to the pens. I borrowed the pic from Fat Catalog online. But I bought mine from TSC on sale it sure makes chores so much easier it holds up to 800 lbs.

Those are great they have two faults so far.... I have two by the way... One fault is air filled tires.... and the other fault is you have to pull them. Here pushing is much easier on me. So I wish they would make one like you get at Home depot .... Flat bed and a rail for pushing.... but have the big tires.

BTW I went to Harbor freight and bought solid rubber wheels for it.

Ok, what can one do for RA in your hands so that you can use them or close them. I cannot sleep at night for the pain. :(

You need to do SLOW stretches. So, take one finger at a time, and then all fingers at once and bend until they are uncomfortable (but NOT painful), then HOLD in that position for a full minute, but 5 minutes is better. Just hold it, don't move, don't wiggle just hold. After the one to five minutes are up, go to the next finger or group of fingers, and repeat.

The key is, NO sudden or quick movements, nice and slow and gentle.

If they are already at such a pain level, then you probably need to take a full week of full dose anti-inflammatory drugs.

An occupational therapist can do WONDERS. It turns out I was doing everything in a way that caused more damage to my hands. I would wake up at least three times a night from the pain, and that was with the maximum dose of Aleve. Now, I take no drugs, and they are uncomfortable, but rarely painful.

Quote: I understand that, I have to use a cane most of the time as I fall quite often and I would love one like you mentioned with the handle and big tires. But at least this way I don't have to haul the buckets every day killing my hands and back. lol
I was looking at some solid tires at TSC I may get some. We don't have a Harbor freight around here. Thanks for the idea. :)

The garden wagon: I have one, and it is one half of my white chicken tractor. I can push mine, but it is trickier.

The prolapse:

I know......about the almost guaranteed constant reoccurrence. :(

I am kinda hoping that if I close my eyes, it will all just go away. Her's is not at all swollen like some of the nasty pictures, so maybe it will be able to go away.

Oh I get it... we use what we can. I am always rethinking stuff... Its my nature.

If you can warm your hands before hand as well when I was going through PT for my Knee reconstruction there were several people coming in for work on their hands. They would dip them in warm wax or warm water before starting out.... I believe it encourages circulation... I only watched so I dont know for sure.

My issues with mobility stem from being overweight and from snapping my ACL in my left knee falling off the mounting block steps. I tried to break my fall... Believe me breaking a bone is better. I sort of had insurance that paid for the re insertion of a new ligament from my doner kneecap. But I never really recovered because I didnt finish the PT... insurance ran out.

Thanks Deb for the helpful advice I will give the finger and hand exercises a try. I wake up often from the pain and take aleve twice a day and sometimes I have to take a pain pill as well. I have been putting off going to a RA Dr. for my hands, lol I went for my hips. lol I guess I will have to go I can't take much more.

I am sorry you have mobility problems. To bad they could not have shown you what to do to keep up the PT at home.

When I first came home from the hospital I had a PT and a home nurse come out 3 times a week and I could not without a walker. Some days I still need it but I try to just use the cane. I try not to let any of it keep me down or slow me down! Even the day after I had stints put in we went to walmart and I rode the electric cart. lol I nearly ran over a bunch of people cuz the controls seemed to be backwards compared to driving a car. lol
