Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I can't really catch up. I'm sorry. I'm super busy with chickens and coffee and children and coffeee and school and cofffeee....
I'm letting the older chicks (almost 6 weeks old) pretend/practice free ranging, so I'm outside baby-sitting a lot. We've had a hawk around for the past week or so, and they're such easy pickins.
The little ones stay in the coop. It's warm enough they don't need a heat lamp, so they don't have to be in the brooder. I'm so thankful, b/c there are so many of them and they're getting so big that they'd be pooping on each other.
I'll keep touching base, when I can.
Quote me or PM me if you can; I don't want to miss anything!!!

I will ignore the other screen name for the foreseeable future.

Okay.  I hope you're able to continue posting on this name.
I'm getting really busy with school and we've got a lot of projects coming up with the chickens (coop to build, coop to move and rebuild, then another coop to build plus a brooder for that one, and I'm going to have to take apart my current brooder...lots to do).  Please quote me or PM me, so we can keep up with each other.  Okay?
I hope everything's going well with you and your chickens and all your loved ones!!! :hugs   Been missin' ya! =)

@Puddin Fluff

Wow!  Busy day!  Hope you enjoyed yourself!!! :weee Happy B-day again! =D

Wow!!! And here I was all worn out from the stuff I have to do! :th

We started on the new bantam coop....and I am having building difficulties. I just have only the faintest and foggiest idea of what I should be doing so that the entire thing doesn't come tumbling down.

We still have a great deal of outside clean-up to do, I should should really get all of the septic systems pumped, and I have a bunch of chickens I still need to butcher.

I also have more ducklings that I haven't sold yet....

It got kinda cold, -I- didn't think it was that cold, but the quail did, and one died. :(

So the kids were awesome, They built a wall in the chicken coop under one of the poop trays. Instant quail house. They look much happier there. (The quail, the kids got to come back inside) It is a little dark there, I am going to see if I can out Christmas lights up for them.

Why did I bring home three bushels of fruit! It's kept me busy all weekend and only half of it is in jars. I'm having serious coffee and chicken time withdrawal!

Oh, I hope you're able to get it all done.
Maybe you need to buy some instant coffee, just so you can get the caffeine? Or maybe...shhhh...tea, or something.
I hope you're able to get out and hang out with your chickens (and have a cup of joe!!!) soon!!!

Make something sugary...maybe the sugar high will keep you going.

It helps me. I'm trying to get away from sugar, so I've been using honey, but that doesn't help.
I'm still working on getting away from as much simple sugars.

Oh yes something sweet. And share!

I took a break to wander the garden with a cup of coffee and this is what I found... I see a salsa afternoon in the near future

It'll sit in jars next to the jams, peach salsas, Italian sauce, and applesauce.

Alaskan and TeaChick- you both are pretty busy too. Take time to enjoy your coffee and tea :)

For what its worth. It was a hundred and four degrees today.....

thunder clouds are mocking us as they form before the head off to Arizona and Nevada.... Thumbing their noses at us as they disappear over the horizon.

This kind of heat causes you to get goosebumps when you step outside...

I can handle the heat.... but our city has reached the flash point.

There is a big difference between chaining a wench to a tree and using a winch to secure a tree....

The last wench that I chained to a tree tried to convince me that turnabout was fair play.

There are not enough hours in the day!!

@Puddin Fluff

I agree whole heartedly. There are NOT enough hours in the day. Or enough pep in my step.

I wish I could majorly over indulge in coffee on some days and not end up with a caffeine headache on others.

-sigh-
