Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Warming my hands over my morning cup of coffee this morning.
It's 30 degrees here in north central Florida, burrrr!
Actually thinking of building a fire in the fireplace and when I think like that it has to be cold!
Stay warm Peeps, more coffee comin up!

It has warmed up a little here in Middle Georgia. It was 20 this morning. That first cup sure was good this morning

I feel ya mrbigschickens. I am in SW Al. and it is very cold and I live in a old drafty farmhouse. I have the heat on and layers of clothes drinking coffee and trying to keep warm. :)
What kind of chicken is that white one on your shoulder? :)

I feel for you Chick. I grew up in a drafty old farm house in South Alabama. Those cold mornings were so cold. Thank goodness my dad got up and tucked us kids in bed and built a fire in the fireplace and in the heating stove in the kitchen.

Speaking of health insurance, anyone read about that Canadian woman who went into premature labor on Hawaii? She had had an urinary tract infection a month prior to the pregnancy, so the insurance company is refusing to pay for her 6 week stay in the hospital... 900k to pay.

We have a storm front coming in so the temps have risen. It is 50F now. The high is forecast to be 57.

I can not find a word that gets me more irritated.
I am surprized they don't break thumbs and threaten little old ladies out of their pensions...
Oh, wait... they do.

You have to have it because medical is so expensive, and yet, 3/4 of my doctor's income goes to paying his staff to handle insurance.

I HATE IT!!!

It is a self feeding monster that needs to have it's knees whacked.

They are thugs.

Quote: I wish we had a fireplace but someone took it out year before my DH this house. We do have central heat but I close off all sections of the house and crank the heat up to 73-74 and I'm still freezing in my living room. lol But the rest of the house is warmer.

I want a new house on this farm... DH laughs and say's when we get the RV to travel in when he retires I will get my new house.

Of course he's right. lol

I have tucked my kids in and turned on the electric heaters to keep them warm in some old drafty houses we lived in and during the blizzard of 93(?) I think. I lost power and everything for a week. But at least I had gas so we camped in the living room and I cooked around the clock to keep the food from spoiling and kept us warm.

That was fun! I taught my kids how to use a sled with a silver platter with handles on it! I pushed them all over the neighborhood and they loved the snow!

Thank you everyone for the good wishes

Deb- That's why I drug myself up the steps and into the house and then crawled down the front steps and hopped into the car instead of calling the rescue squad. Unlike you, I was at least able to have my hubby there to drive me. You really made me think. I need to check into if we can say no to a lifeflight. Just like you, we are so rural that the lifeflight is used maybe even more than it needs to be.
