Bunny, by the way. We're thinking of getting some rabbits for... umm... because they're cute? Certainly not going to eat them or anything that would make you threatened. Anyway, you wouldn't happen to have some pics handy of your setup? And what kind of space requirements do you see? How much space do you think a doe and her litter would require to be comfortable? Not like a bare minimum, but actual "this is what I would be comfortable with" numbers.

I seem to remember that out New Zealand rabbits were reasonably comfortable with a cage 3x4 feet (1x1.5 meters) later as the litter was weaned we moved them to more space, three times that size. Bunnylady might have a better idea, it has been 15 years since I thought about Dad's rabbits.

My plan is to build with compost enclosure panels, they're about 90cm*90cm, and I thought I'd use four in a row, so that would make the total size 3 by 12 feet. But I'd like to get an actual bunnykeepers input. Also, what to use on the bottom would be interesting to know.

It makes about six cups of concentrate.... For a yummy coffee you mix it three to one.... Or one portion of the concentrate to three of Hot water, Milk, or creme.... I drink it cold but you certainly could heat up the water or milk before putting it in.

Six cups works out to be 24 cups of coffee... It will take a while to drink it all. Oh and it lasts a good two weeks in the decanter in the refrigerator. The filter itself is good for up to ten brewing jobs....

Oh and while I normally drink four shots of espresso every morning.... this morning I had just one cup and I am not feeling deprived in any way.

Got to get one of those!!!!

16 frosty degrees out there this morning. We'll be lucky to get above freezing today. I know, that seems like nothing to a lot of you that actually get winter every year, but it's unusual for us, and dealing with it takes extra effort. No point in heated waterers when the water only stays frozen for a few days each winter, so I will be schlepping water out to the animals several times today.

that plan fits with my memory. the Flemish Giant (Is that the right name?) might need more. there is a fun youtube video on movable rabbit cages, pasture raised for most of the feed, similar to chicken tractors.

"Comfortable" is a tough call. There are "industry standards," some countries have established minimums; but how does one judge the animals' comfort? I have my rabbits in wire cages that are larger than the accepted minimums for their respective breeds, but there's no denying that there isn't much mental stimulation in a set-up like that. Some people colony-breed, which does allow for a bit of social interaction (a colony can be carefully controlled; there are many ways to do it). Some people use rabbit tractors, like chicken tractors - you have to build sturdier, of course, because the rabbits will chew on things - there are almost as many ways to keep rabbits as there are rabbit breeders.
