Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

from my understanding thats part of why the coyotes range is expanding with the decline in the wolf packs they are moving in filling the apex predatory spot.. the wolfs howl n talk to each other in their territories which lead the coyotes range to be more controlled...coyotes are more opportunist hunters but with the expansion of their ranging and habits they are changing some of their food gathering skills

I have been told that fox hunters brought them into the Southeast thinking they would be good to chase but they weren't and they compete with the foxes.

Yep. It is an inside kind of day here. Woke up to a sheet of ice and continued rain. Church even canceled. Got water to the chicks, lammas are under cover and I am coffee drinking for a while and babying a sick daughter.

I remember those ice storms around Little Rock. It got so bad that they closed the runway at Little Rock AFB.

Well I mean its not impossible, but most colleges are more geared for the fresh out of school kid...or at least it seems so where I live. It may be different based on the location.

When I was going to college in my 20s after service in Vietnam. My teachers said that they preferred teaching adults. They paid attention, asked more questions and they had more background to understand the subject. One night in Algebra class a young guy in the back of the room asked why would one use imaginary numbers The professor said that he didn't know. He was a Phd in math and he had always wondered why one needed imaginary numbers. A few of the veterans in class raised their hands and explained that for one imaginary numbers were used in calculating 3 phase power. The professor seemed happy to know why they were needed.

It is best to not ever thing about it, I try to never sit down on it.... just nasty. (not that you can smell any 'remnants' it is just the thought)

When I went to college I thought that the kids that had taken one year or more off between high school and college did better. They were more likely to see college as an IMPORTANT opportunity instead of a time to be away from parents and.... uh..... do bad stuff.

Most of the 'slightly older' people had taken a year to save up money, or go into the military to get them to pay, or had started in the job world, and saw that having a degree would make them lots more money later.

Anyway, with that said... I kinda hope that my boys follow the 'plan' that I have for them; which is to stay at home for the first year or two, and go to the local community college to get some of the basic classes out of the way, then go somewhere that is better/more competitive.

Not only does the military help pay for college they have some very good schools which can provide a good basis for college and provide experience in some good fields if you select the fields that provide good training in a field that they are interested in. Technical training in electronics, medical and many other fields even criminal justice provides background and training for the college subjects and helps matures the individual. At 22 years old I was a journeyman in aviation electronics and I used my college to advance above the journey level.

The only problem with that is that no sooner than you lay down the rules to chickens they start showing you how many ways they can break them.
