TY for that. Makes me feel mean for saying I am glad its 17 in my neck of the woods. The colder it is, though, the quicker I head out so I can get water/food for everyone usually B4 java is done!

I am going to wait for the temperature to double before I go out, currently 1F .... 2F should happen about the time I finish my second cup

We go check on the girls no matter what but my sweet DH volunteered for the chore this morning. I can hear him in the bathroom right now thawing out the chook waterer in the bathtub. Just asked and he said it was 75% froze solid and it's not even sitting on the floor! We have the coop extremely well insulated and a radient heater in the coop for when it gets this cold (keeps things just above freezing at roost level) but waterer still freezes when it's this cold. Still around 38o F on the roost right now though. (I know because I have a remote thermometer mounted just above them that I can read in the house). Definitely an inside day for the chooks unless we get enough sun to thaw out the greenhouse.

Good morning, coffee is good this morning. It's cold windy and wet out this morning sun is suppose to come out later.

Well, the sun's up, so I reckon it must be morning. Temp's in the low 60's, wind's in the low 40's, and rain. I think I'll see if another cup can give me the strength to go out there (or maybe just make me too restless to stay in here!)
