Sorry!
Love to hear about warm when it's cold. But can we come and visit??,That is, if we ship our own water, which would be easier than if you shipped the warmth to us.I want to apologize to the whole thread for relating my own climate details. I will stick to coffee only
Bring on the Spring!
yep... ya'll getting snow IS my fault... I must have shipped it all south!![]()
Almost all of my snow is gone, my pond is still iced over... but I think I can see all of my lawn.
My first bird of spring showed up last Saturday.
I think the broody needs to be kicked off of the nest at least once a day to make sure she is eating enough.

take her off the nest every day so she can poop and eat and drink and dustbathe.... you can also put food and water in front of her. ON the Broody hatch along there are some who have had broodies constantly through a couple of hatches... by making sure they eat. I was on that list for a very long time. If shes going to be your broody I would build her a broody partition or spot where you can exclude the other hens and have her dedicated food and water and dustbath spot. That way all you have to do is make sure she gets off the nest to tend herself. Some broodies automatically do it.... Some you have to watch over.
