Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Now, I do wish that my angels didn't have teeth that came in at such odd angles!! :he

Not sure yet how much this will cost me.... They won't tell me until the next visit... But there were hints that "lots" was gonna be needed

My sons teeth were aweful... they put braces on him when he was about six or seven.... they were straight within about three months. and stayed on another six... then he had a retainer. that was so his adult teeth wehn they came in would have spaces.. I was told he would need braces again when he was about thirteen.. or so... I didnt jump on that. His teeth arent perfect but hes got a good bite.

When they started he had teet that went in front of his lower jaw and some that went behind. and one was turned almost ninety degrees...

I cant imagine having to deal with that for five.

luckily, I think that only 2 of the 5 are gonna have/do have horrid teeth.

The other have bigger jaws, and the teeth are coming in/have come in better.

My eldest, I could probably skip braces entirely if I wanted... I am going to take him in to get evaluated anyway, to make sure his bite is good so the teeth wear properly... but I don't think I will have to do anything, or at least very little for him.

Hopefully, I will be paying out the nose for only 2 of the 5.

I wanted my braces. I was very self conscious about my crooked teeth. We were a two hour drive from an orthodontist. My mom is a wonderful lady.:D

My son made it through his braces and my daughter should get hers off this summer.

:weee Got up late today, hubby brought me coffee while I check BYC. First day off the job is looking good.;)

Puddin fluff, Enjoy not working. I expect you to work harder at not working : children, chickens, and llamas...you might need a part time job to rest.

Alaskan, we went three phases with our kid's orthodontics.
Not to freak you out, but it has been six years and 1,000 per year.

I Think we need to get it done before he goes to college, but apparently there is another phase to go through yet.... When he is done, I get in the chair. No one told me that old age is like being a teenager again.
Your teeth shift, your skin goes bad, and people ignore you again.
I'd become rebellious -but I am too tired.

Thanks. That is partly why I was working in the first place. My hubby retired 6 years ago and I live him dearly but I had a little too much attention with him home. So, this job opened up and it was something I wanted to do, so I took it. Unfortunately, I have come to dislike the companies policies/practices and just had to go. I am looking forward to being back to my own schedule.

Sounds like your kids had/have some serious dental stuff happening. I had a friend whose teeth were so bad, to fix them, they had to break and reset his jaw.

:lau Love your take on ageing!

That jaw breaking stuff was what they wanted to do...but we opted for the four phase plan. Once something is broken, it is never as strong as it was before.

They wanted to pull a tooth and my son said, 'But that's my favorite tooth!"
The dentist got such a laugh out of that, he decided that he would take a longer slower route to the same destination.
