So, I live in the city. I have 4 hens (they are the cutest. Their run is muddy and it isn't going to get better anytime soon (I don't think the 40 days are up yet)... My question is? I have a portion of the yard that is cut off from the rest of the yard. Do you think it would be o.k. for me to let the chickens run around in there all day? I won't be home all day. I have let them do it when I was home, and they loved it.

Sand in the run will help with the mud.

Letting them run free in the yard is an option if you do not have predators during the day. Hawks can still be a worry and raccoons in the early morning and late evening.

I used to get five yards for my horses corral when I boarded. Use Riverbed sand or a mixed partical size sand... NOT play sand. Play sand is too expensive.

Yep, I did not even know you could turn them off. This was a gift GFM so I wasted some free no ad time.

Go into your profile page, top right there are two edit buttons, it's the one on the far right, I forget what it says, anyway inside there is a list of things you can turn on and off, adds are one of them. That is the reason I sprung the dough for the GF membership. I had to turn my speakers off on my computer to keep from listening to the jabber, the movement on the sides was distracting, then they did that full page thing and everything shrank. Plus, I feel like I am supporting a good website with my $.
