Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

My life is a weekend.

Definitely like a Monday. Too much to do and too little time to do it in! No matter, it's coffee break time for me.

I hear rumbling outside too. I guess I should take a look at radar and see what we're in for. Fortunately, all the brooder chicks are at the 3 week mark so they are a little sturdier now, should the power go out. It went out when they were one week old and they survived 4 or 5 hours worth of no heat before I discovered the power had gone off in the night. It's warmer now than then so it should be okay even if it does.

I'm not sure if my life is a weekend or just a series of weekdays.

Carrollton texas

Yup. I've lived in Fla all my life and I hate fireants almost as much as I hate cockroaches!!!

I'll try to send broody waves your way. I don't need any more!

Oh, thank you, thank you!!!!
DH is about to give up on my girls. They're not even a year old yet and they're practicing (sort of, well, one of them is anyway), so I'm still holding out hope. lol

When I like a post, do I just give thumbs up (ovation) or should I just reply? What's the friendly thing to do? Lol

Also, I am helping the DH build the coop this week!!!
yesss.gif
but I need all you seasoned BYC'ers help with the slanted roof and how to attach it to wall parts. (You can tell I know my typical terms!!)

I'm sure everyone else has given their opinion, but here's mine too.
As I understand it, the ovation is for when you find a post particularly "helpful". If you want to reply, then reply.

GL on the coop, roof, wall thing. The only coop I built has three sheets of roofing nailed to a log and then me and the kids picked it up and put it on top of the pallet walls. Then I had to put another log (w/ a fork in it) up under the front of the first log so that the roof slanted back as well as down both sides, and then we had to prop the whole thing up in the back b/c apparently the ground wasn't as level as it felt.

Absolument!

(My inner diva channels Miss Piggy)

I miss Miss Piggy! I used to watch the Muppet Show when I was little, then I watched the Muppet Babies when my younger siblings were little, and now I just miss the Muppets. =(

It's too bad that feeling bored and ignored doesn't inspire some people to be more useful and more interesting . . . .

I agree.

I resemble that remark.

I disagree.

My theory is if you are bored, make cookies.

..then suddenly you become popular even if you don't become interesting.

Yeah! I'll have one!

The hardware store is full of doodads. I do not know what they are called though.

Those specific doodads are called brackets. I don't know all the proper terms, but my g-pa was a carpenter, so I know some of them.

Oh that top one would work perfectly! I think ours here are called Simpson hardware. I'll show the DH and see if he too thinks that's the way to go!! Thanks everyone!!!

Btw- I have 5 pips (?) right now but no zips. My first one still is just making the hole bigger and not going around to zip. Patience, patience...

Oh, BTW. My g-pa told DH and I that the brackets are usually unnecessary, that he would just "toe nail" it where he can't nail straight in.

Aren't hardware stores fun? I'm amazed there isn't more eye-rolling when I try to explain a doohickey that's needed. There's a lot of squinting and confused looks. That and have me try to explain any kind of computer science... Not a pretty picture. Even *I* know I sound stupid.

We all have our strengths in assorted areas and places that we just rock....
Thank God for that!!!

I don't go into hardware stores alone so I don't get the confused looks or anything. I stink at computer stuff too.

I don't have time to ponder, so for now I'm going to assume that mine's a series of weekdays with lots of coffee breaks. lol

Okay, I'm pretending I'm caught up b/c I can't sit here and read 200+ posts.
Please let me know if I missed anything important!!! If it's important to you, then it's important to me!!!!
