I think we have been calling these mud daubers. I'll have to take a better look at the bugs we've got and try to figure out if they're black soldier flies or not.

mud daubers are a wasp--they do not have larvae that eat poo.

They make nests like this:

The ones we have here make a different looking mud nest in the eves.

Texas isn't too different than Fla when it comes to bugs, so...why?  Why don't you just use the bugs you already have around???

They do get some bugs, solider flies break down food compost, create lots of larva for my hens to eat...
I haven't bought them yet, I was surprised that I could buy them... I'm going to try and harvest them first...

Today dad and I finshed working in garden...

I know it's getting hot for this, but it's what he wanted to work on...
We added lavender, and sage w/ more lantana

awesome...  with colored pencil or Oil pastels...  I can mix color...  but with pastels my fingers are almost bloody when I am done because I dont stop till I am finished...  And I work with large paper like 17 x 22...  Usually dream scapes or impressionistic stuff.  those are all at the house.  Where most of my supplies are.

Can't do pastels AT ALL. Last time I tried it looked like my 6 year old tried to draw a pony... Yeah..... I can work with big paper, but since I usually try to go for super realistic, it can get really tedious really fast.
