Chickens LOVE those things. Once upon a time I had 32 tomato plants (for 2 people) and went out every morning with a coffee can to pick the tomato worms off the plants. Chickens ate cans of them with no harm.

watch feeding potato, tomato (part of the nightshade family) and rhubarb (highly toxic) to your girls. Otherwise I too give the girls whatever they want of the garden scraps (and the critters that were eating them) and grow extra kale and collard next to the fence where they can poke their heads thru and snack on it. They love the treat and it's funny to watch them run when they see me coming like they know they are getting away with something naughtyI throw all Bugs and pulled plants from my garden to the chickens. Especially the ones that get nibbled at night like I have no luck with corn something always takes a bite out of each ear just before it is time to harvest. BUT I never use pesticides or sprays on my garden. Make sure you are not putting anything in the soil or on the plants that would be harmful to your ladies.

What a great idea. I will have to start doing that.
