AI? Oh, my.I enjoyed school... But I remember that I had to be careful about how I planned my classes so that I didn't get overloaded and fall apart. That's what happened to me Fall semester and Spring semester this year. We're taking "easier" courses this term (easier for him, anyway. lol; I can't really complain, I picked the courses. I gave him a list of courses and he picked from that; I thought surely he'd pick one class that he would like and the art class I kept bringing up...so much for taking a hint.)![]()
I twice tried to take classes in the summer.... The summer I took classes at a community college was FINE. However, the year I tried to take summer classes at the regular college I felt myself starting to unravel and so I dropped those classes very quickly. When I took CC summer courses, they were Jazz Ensemble (IDK why they let me do that, I can't carry a tune in a bucket) and Ceramics II, I think? No more math and science at any rate.
I found I needed to have one really easy and fun class per semester, and not more than one class could be super difficult. I had to carefully balance my schedule. Yeah. I'm not doing two third year classes in one term ever again!!! That was murder! I'm taking at least one second-year psyche course (those are my "fun" classes) each semester next year.
As long as things were balanced, I was fine..... Until organic chemistry. Thankfully, as a psyche major, I don't have to take any chemistry!!!![]()
I think I tried that class three times, a fancy tutor once. The third time, it was CLEAR that I was just never going to figure this out.
I remember I walked into my advisors office and pounded my fist down on his desk. I told him that I WAS going to graduate with the degree that I had already chosen. I would NOT leave there until he figured out how it would work. He had to find some class that I was capable of passing that could be substituted for Organic Chemistry. I feel ya on that!!!
He just looked at me for a moment and then said sure, instead of Organic Chemistry, we would substitute in Artificial Insemination. I got an A in that class, and my degree.![]()
I know right? Amazed even me. Lol.
Yeah, balancing classes is a big deal. Too little, and you risk staying in school longer than necessary, too many hard classes and you're probably going to have melt down! Lol
Hi everyone
Did you miss me??? Just been really busy (like all of you I'm sure) but I had to pop in and check on everyone.![]()
Thanks to the help from my friend over on the Australorp thread I no longer have a broody!!! I just have a happy hen again !
And without a lot of unnecessary stress on either her or me, whew.
I loved going to school, I loved going back to school, and I even enjoyed taking some of the required "silly" classes in the summer.
I love learning and would still be taking classes if it were geographically possible. I have even resorted to taking courses in all sorts of
things just for the opportunity to learn something new.
Deb - a huge congrats on the rain!!!![]()
we got just under a full inch of rain in less than half an hour yesterday in a cloud burst. No need to water the gardens today!
I decided to try college at the age of 39. I really did not think I could do it. To my surprise I managed to not only accomplish it, but I also managed to pass with good grades. I love learning... I don't always like all the work that goes with it.
Oops there goes another Tomato plant.... I dont know if chickens will eat them... Oops googled it Yes they will and no need to worry about toxicity the worms excrete any toxins they ingest.
I say let the chickens duke it out over em.
deb
Chickens LOVE those things. Once upon a time I had 32 tomato plants (for 2 people) and went out every morning with a coffee can to pick the tomato worms off the plants. Chickens ate cans of them with no harm.

It seems some people are sensitive to night shade fruits even though they are not really poisonous to us. If so, they should be avoided.
Now I want french fries or pizza!
With goji berries??? lol
