I bought about six juvenile Angle fish... about the size between a quarter and a nickle.... By the end of six months they were big enough to eat the Neons.... but the Neons had grown to about the size of a nickle so they didnt fit in the angels mouths.

I love Ryukins.... and Koi... I have a 110 gallon aquarium... I would love to set it up again. funny thing was I didnt go for the exotics just community fish... I love most fish.. I've only had Bettas, but I want to get a 50 gal and get some fancy goldfish, especially ryukins And long fins.

Could be a redcap a young one.... When I worked in the store we had them the size of baseballs.... Back then in the 70s they were selling for 50+

The Celestial's are what had me wierded out....

Gold fish of all species really should be in a single species environment... Because they dont care for warm water... they like it slightly saline as well. Then there is that whole parasite issue.... from Ich to anchor worms.... We had an Ichthyologist on staff and he took care of the medication of the tanks. The Gold fish were the most work of em all. Including the Saltwater fish.

I would have Koi and Ryukins.... and Red Eared sliders... The pond needs to be deep and well filtered.... And covered with anti raccoon wire...

Because I want to raise Tilapia I am going to dedicate the big tank to fry raising... until I get confident with the process then it will be returned to alternate home entertainment.

Goldfish are illness prone? I get that enough with chickens and dogs! Lol. Like I said, only fish exp is with Bettas, and given the right environment, they're pretty hardy.

So keeping the Gold fish in their own tank with their own environment is a good idea... sorry the Beta would get nibbled on till he wouldn't have fins left...

Betas can go into a community tank though with mollies and Guppies and Sword fish... Just no other Betas not even a female..... these all live in a similar environment... They love slightly brackish water as well but prefer it warmer than Gold fish do.

Ich comes with all fish... any fish that are stressed are subject to an Ich outbreak.

Not to worry just buy healthy looking fish and try to put fish from a similar environment in the same aquarium if you want a community tank.

I throw all Bugs and pulled plants from my garden to the chickens. Especially the ones that get nibbled at night like I have no luck with corn something always takes a bite out of each ear just before it is time to harvest.  BUT I never use pesticides or sprays on my garden. Make sure you are not putting anything in the soil or on the plants that would be harmful to your ladies.

watch feeding potato, tomato (part of the nightshade family) and rhubarb (highly toxic) to your girls.  Otherwise I too give the girls whatever they want of the garden scraps (and the critters that were eating them) and grow extra kale and collard next to the fence where they can poke their heads thru and snack on it.  They love the treat and it's funny to watch them run when they see me coming like they know they are getting away with something naughty 

I do not understand those lists.

My flock has eaten MANY plants from the nghtshade family... And it never made any of them sick.

They have found their way into my greenhouse several times, twice enmass, and ate up every single pepper and tomato plant I had, along with all of the unripe green tomatoes and little peppers on the plants.

I actually let them into my greenhouse at the end of the season, when they eat up all of my tomato and pepper plants. They have also eaten up all of the potato plants in my garden.

They were happy.... Not sick.

I also give them apple cores, with the seeds. And raw potato peels.
