Thank goodness the fire hazard at my house stays pretty much the same year round. High....
chaparal has great potential for burning.

but yep here in town a few years back we were evacuated twice once from Grandmas house to Moms house then from Moms house back to Grandmas house. It burned up to my grandmas back fence. which is about thirty feet from her house.

There is a price to pay for good climate lots of sun and low rainfall.... When we get rains as we did this year it increases the brush overburdon.

We are required to remove brush around our houses to a defensible 50 feet down to x amount of inches and in the back country add on another 50 feet of dead wood removal for 100 feet total. Then we have to wrestle with the EPA over what can be removed and or thinned.
