Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

DO you stuff the dog while it is alive or dead? My dog seem to never get stuffed no matter how much I try to shove down her throat..
Oh trust me they can be stuffed my sheltie, Molly, once got into a bag of dog food while Mom and I were at the store, when we got back we fed them dinner and neither of them would touch it... Molly's stomach was right as a drum I thought she had bloat and was terrified, until we realized they both had it... Hmmm bloat's not considered catching but being naughty is. Of course neither got dinner and we watched them closely to make sure they digested everything okay in spite of their binge. Lol
The best stuffing is cornbread dressing. However, I love sausage, so maybe I should try some of that. :drool I used to think that meat should be from herbivores... But then I love pig and chicken and bear.... And then last winter I tried a great big kitty for the first time. I gotta say, it actually wasn't all that bad...
I'm jealous of your getting to try those unique foods. Idk if I could eat a cat, even a big cat, being that I own and love cats. I do have friends from Haiti that have eaten it and some even like it but mostly its out of necessity. I suppose I would try a big cat but it still might bother me a bit. I would however love to try bear. Along with duck, quail, snake, gator, turtle, bison, elk, moose and any number of any others. I like to try a food at least once although there are probably a couple I would say no to. :) I love the bizarre foods shows too. Lol
I'm actually a dog person.... my favorite are Aussie crosses. I have had two now Sweet trainable velcro dogs.... If I went for a walk in the desert she was never more than fifty yards from me and always looking to see where I was.... If i changed direction she would zoom in to check on met then the orbit would begin. She never chased anything unless I told her to.... and she was very quick. She would dig up a rats nest and kill em all and give me the rats when I asked for them. Rosie Posie passed away at the golden age of 17 I could never replace her not with a single dog. deb
Sorry for your loss. Yes it's something I've been thinking as Molly is ten now and I'm just not sure how I'll ever love another dog after her. Ugh I've read that the reason animals' lives are so short is because they already know how to love perfectly and unconditionally but I have to say that I would legitimately give my right leg to be able to keep Molly for my whole lifetime. I know that's a lot to say being that I've never been without it and I mean no disrespect to those missing any limbs. It's just as though Molly is a part of me physically a piece of my heart. She's definitely a Velcro dog but so much more she separates my cats when the get too rough playing and start to hurt each other, she gave each of the chicks kisses goodbye that a couple bought the other day, and tonight I taught/had her picking up and throwing away pieces of a toilet paper roll(empty) that she shredded, she loves shredding them and I don't mind cleaning up the pieces, usually. Literally she was picking them up, walking them over and dropping them in the trash can. My closest friend was over today and we got to talking about someday when I lost Molly. I told her someday I would get another sheltie and then probably be massively disappointed because it wouldn't be Molly. Of course it wouldn't I would be a little freaked out if it was. I've been told by some people on BYC that some people believe that there are animals just meant for us. They referred to them as heart dogs(cats etc) do I think that some animals are just special and can never be matched, yes I do. I think Molly is one of them and I hope if I'm lucky in my lifetime maybe I'll find another one. In the meantime I'm gunna put all I can into loving Molly and making sure however many years(hopefully many) she has left are as wonderful as they can be. :) hard to believe I've had her ten years in two days will be her birthday so it's a bit early but I don't think she minds.

Quote: You know I have had dogs 61 years.... Mom had poodles and bred them She even docked thier tails herself... My earliest recollection was my job was to hold a puppy just so while mom counted out vertibre and use a butcher knife and a hammer to do the deed. Puppy would be given back to momma with only a teeny yelp momma would take care of it from then on.

My very first dog of my own was a Part Dachshund that I named Foxy. I was five or six at the time. I learned soo much about dogs and how to be a good citizen with them from him. He was onery and smart and an endless player. When I was sixteen mom made me take him to the vets to have him put down. it was an horrific thing to do to me but it had to be done he was in pain and cried out when he got up on his feet.

Each dog has had a special place in my heart.... never taking the place of the previous one but lending their own special soul to that popouri of our life experiences. They come into our lives to teach us something or bring us a connection to that part of the world that lots of people never see. But when its time to go we have to let them. and they will tell you.

At this point in my life I have to wait. I am cargiving for my 99 year old Grandmother and I cant risk her falling. besides she really doesnt care for dogs anyway. So having one in this house is a no go. But when I move home I will find that soul that will teach me my next lesson...

I love the way you put that. It's so true and so poetically spoken. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Okay this is kind of a sick question but would the tail end wriggle after getting cut off? I saw it in a movie once and I wondered if it were true.

I haven't had many dogs yet(I'm 25) had several cats though and worked with many more cats and dogs and from my limited experiences there have been a few that I was closer too and that meant more to me than others. I do agree though that they don't replace each other, of course not. I once heard it phrased like this, " our love for those lost doesn't get replaced when we love again but rather our hearts continue to grow so that our love multiplies and there is room for more love in them.

those maps only get updated every so often. So far its not an automatic thing. GIS is still a complex tool that takes human interpretaion and time consuming work. I tried to get into it about fifteen years ago.... Too late not enough education.

In other words they cant just point the satellite on an area and take a snapshot. Not unless its national security needs.

I have no idea, I think you're speaking French or something weird...

All I know is when they came out here they had a google earth photo that was a newer one than I could get on my computer. It showed a could junk cars my idiot nephew was 'Junking out" back in my pasture. The fine hurt, but it gave me a good reason to make him move his poop.
