Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I spent Eleven dollars for a bottle of wine one year back in the 80s celebrating yet ONE more new years eve alone.   Lovely Cabernet.  back then that was big money for a bottle of wine for me.   I made dinner sipping wine and oh my goodness it was good...  there were little particles in the bottom of the glass that sparkled in the light....  After dinnner i watched a video finished the wine and went to bed.

Next day I was back in the store to see if they had another bottle of that wine.   The store owner was there and he smiled at me .... "how was that bottle of wine?...."   I raved ....  "I am so glad because my  SON..." he turned an accusing eye to the clerk Mis labled the wine.  That should have been 110.00 "

Oops....   I still have the bottle.  somewhere....

 wow! Lucky you!

Okay. Supermarket secret time: Sometimes mislabeling happens on purpose. Butchers and produce people often put the good stuff at the very back of the shelf (perhaps for their friends and families), sometimes hidden under another such regularly labeled item. I have found 5 lbs of bacon labeled as 2 lbs, steaks mismarked by either dollar or kind, and larger than normal bundles of green onions. Also, the fresher stuff is back there as they want to move the sooner-to-expire items. So if you have the time to peruse, this is where foraging pays off.

So I'm sitting here right now drinking a cup of coffee in the middle of the afternoon & I see a thread titled "Sitting with a cup of coffee" ... Geez, how can I resist a title like that. Its Green Mountain Breakfast Blend which is my favorite 'pod' brand. I switch it up in the winter & drink Peets Holiday Blend. That blend doesn't come in pods, so I have to do the pour over method which I think tastes better, but cools down a bit quicker.
Well, I've gotta get out & move the baby brooder into the big girls coop, but thanks for letting me take my coffee break here!

It is great to have you here!

I cleaned out a brooder and grow out pen today.

I of course had some good coffee first....

I have had such a busy day I only had 2 cups of coffee. I went to town and got wood chips.......

I moved chicks, set up a couple brooder and put new hatches in the Neo-natal unit.

But I paid for my lack of coffee and was forced to take a Grandpa nap. I got all that stuff done before noon!

The late afternoon and tonight is Grandpa daycare time..

Grocery store foraging....who knew

I go at about Ten Thirty PM to the grocery store. The scooters are charged and unused so I can take my time. The sales for the next day are being loaded up so I can take advantage of that.... But the discounted food is being put on the end caps as well as the discounted meats. I will buy beef only in that section.

Grandmas birthday went without a hitch.... 100 years old today.

One Gal came with her Daughters... She looked to be around eighty and her daughters looked to be sixty and seventy.... Come to find out She was 94....All the rest were in their seventies and eighties....

Even Elisabeth the gal that cleans the house came with her Son and Daughter. And the Pizza Guy Joe, who is the owner of our favorite pizza place, came. He delivered the pizzas and stayed about two hours. Hes adopted Grandma as his and is a big softie. He took a bizillian pictures and promised to email them to me.

I couldnt have pulled it off if my son and cousin hadn't helped.

I crashed at about two pm and went to bed leaving Dean to explain and handle cleanup duty. I got up at five and the last two were still here...

soon as I finish destressing I am going back to bed.
