Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Here's another one. This is my dog Meatball. I call it "Pug in a Mug" :gig
:love Meatball
My coffee day started bad..... I did a few chores and pushed the brew button on my beloved Keurig. I then picked up my cup and took a huge gulp of the golden nectar of life... And ran to the sink to spit it out! It seems someone had tried to poison me with bad coffee! I had neglected to put a new K cup into the brewer. I was drinking day old used grounds coffee! I dumped the cup and started over... I picked up a new K cup put it in and brewed it......... This time I knew I was in for the treat my taste buds desired and my high my nervous system is addicted too.... BUT:::: \ It was the same washed out taste! I have now decided it is the brand, We have 2 different "Paul Newman's Own" K cups.... One has good dark coffee in it, the other in keeping with his political views is recycled coffee grounds from some third world country! I will be setting these cups aside for company and my wife..... Company is usually too polite to say " your coffee tastes like ground dung beetles"...and I can tune out anything my wife says anytime of day or night...
I'm glad I saved reading this for nearing the end of the day. I needed this belly laugh for a Monday. Thank you. :lau

Hi everyone, did you miss me?

What a busy, sweltering hot, wonderful few days!

I was supposed to attend poll worker training for our August primary/November elections on Saturday but my daughter called Thursday night to say that if it were alright they were going to make a mad run up on Friday afternoon from Illinois for an overnight visit with officer hubby, number two daughter (number one is working in Naples Florida) and three dogs and the new puppy. Of course!!!

Cut the other tree up that is still blocking our driveway from the previous day's storm and clean up the mess, send DH to town for supplies (with a list and crossed fingers) while I madly try to find the spare bedroom, spiff up the yard and make sure the chooks run and coop are set for them to spend a little time in lockdown so the grandpuppy pack can have their play yard to run in. It was miserably hot and humid the whole time they were here but we slathered on the bug dope and spent a lot of time on the back porch and under the shade trees. Haven't seen them in over a year so it was so nice to just kick back and catch up on their world.

I didn't mention until later that Friday was our 22nd anniversary. (Yes, it was the 2nd time for both of us). Told my daughter it was too bad I had to kiss so many frogs before I found my prince

They headed home Saturday pm so Sunday was mostly a little clean up and a lot of recuperation for us old folks, then we finally had a couple of dry days so it was time to get some more painting done. Even got my workshop/sunshed painted this morning before it got too hot. Rain moving back in now and more tomorrow but then the heat breaks and the highs at least go back into the 70's for several days so with a bit of luck we should get another big Jack Pine tree in the yard dropped and cut up and I should be able to finish up the exterior painting and maybe even get that new coat of semi-gloss on the inside of the coop. We're not going to build the new roof over the grow out pen until my two survivors are a bit bigger and able to "mingle" and probably not until it cools off a bit more. The gardens are a mess but for the first time in 20 years I just don't care that much. Guess I've finally gotten enough of fighting Mother Nature (don't tell all those folks I taught as a Master Gardener oer the years how to successfully garden in the north). I'll never give up on my herb garden, but the other three large veggie gardens? Just not worth the time and energy anymore for keeping my organic certification when we now have so many wonderful organic growers at our farmer's market less than an hour to our south. Besides, I need more time to play with my chickens!

BTW-where are these lazy days of summer that I hear so much about?

Too bad you don't live closer to Ron or myself, we could fix you right up and it taking seven days is ridiculous.
Back in record time. I had expected seven days He said Friday and it actually only took 24 hours.

No worries.... I take it to the place that built it for me. They cleaned up 60 infected files (yes I do use a virus checker).... I was having trouble installing Windows 10. But before that the computer had crashed about four times. It hadn't been tuned up since I had it built.

I dont have an antistatic bench so am not equipped to do a Cleanup for dust.... and it was very dusty....

The other plus side was I got the area re organized and moved the printer to a central location for my sons use. Setup a printer station so that I could have fresh paper and supplies at hand and ready to use.
