Hey there. I have six chicks that need to be sexed. They were picked from a straight-run assortment.

(Sorry about the quality on some of these in advance. I'm thinking there's five roos and one hen.)

You are a few weeks too early for definite answers but I do believe I see a lot of developing males. Those combs will become pink than red over the next few weeks for males, while the pullets should remain yellow orange for a bit.

The first one and the last one may be pullets; the others have a lot of red on the wattles and seem to be cockerels, but someone more experienced will come along in a bit.

It's a little early, but I'm pretty sure you're right on the 5-1 ratio. 2, 3, & 4 are pretty safe bets for cockerels with those combs and wattles coming in at 4 weeks.

Easter Egger too young
Columbian Rock or Deleware Cockerel
Light Sussex Cockerel
Black Austrolorp Cockerel
? Too young
New Hampshire, or production red, too young.

The ones that are too young, post pics of the combs at six weeks.

Thank you all for some insight. Ill be posting pictures when they're around 7 weeks.
