Thank you so much for clearing this up for me. The information you stated is what I had also researched and understood to be true. I was disappointed that I was wrong about mine. I am glad that I was right. Thanks again.

Hi. I have silkie babies and blue Cochin bantam babies. I can keep one roo, and I am trying to decide which one. My question is this..does the daddy need to be a silkie or a Cochin or does it matter? I am a newbie and I am sure this is a dumb question! Sorry. I wish I could keep. Them all because they are all wonderful. Thanks.

This is a very interesting thread which I am trying to follow.

I bought a frizzle bantam that I now think is a frazzle.
If I was to cross her to a half silkie rooster would this dilute the frazzle and give me some sort of frizzle.
..........or will I end up with a sozzle?

A curley (bird with two copies of the frizzle gene) will always give a copy to its offspring, so all offspring should be frizzled.

To be a sizzle, a bird must have all silkie features EXCEPT for feathering. A sizzle's feathering is NOT silkied and IS frizzled.

I did not know this, thank you for enlightening me.

This is incorrect. ANY breed can be a frizzle. Yes, cochins are probably the most common, but both APA and ABA recognise frizzle for ALL breeds. Frizzled polish are not too far behind frizzled cochins in commonality.
