So here's the story. Yesterday, I noticed one of my young male quail had an injury on it's head, a small one that had already scabbed over. I thought we only had two males so I took the other male I knew about out because we were sure that was the problem. But when I checked him this morning, I found him with an even worse injury in the same place, a large skinning injury. I immediately took him back in and separated him. Treated him with vetrycin and put him in a sterile cage to heal. I did see him eat. But is there anything else I can or should be doing for him??
I checked all the other quails genders and it turns out I had another male, and he had blood evidence of the pecking. He was done up. Now we have two males that are separated and three female quail (hopefully gonna have more hatch soon). So any advice for his treatment? He is still very alert and has a strong will to survive still as well.
