Skippy has Angel Wings

Took Skippy out to enjoy some sunshine! I'll try to get a better picture of his body soon.

Hey, it's been a while! But here are a couple of pictures of Skippy during his bath last night. He's doing really great! His feathers look a zillion times better, he's eating like a pig and he's really warming up to my husband and I. He's not nearly as territorial as he was, so we are feeling like we're doing something right! His beak is totally healed up. Other than his goofy wings, I'd say he's thriving.

He totally hams it up for the camera

@Alexc844 Skippy looks great, so happy to hear he is thriving with you and husbands care and attention, I love his color.

A member on the goose thread recommended this for wings once he molts out his flight feathers wrap just like for angel wing, when new flight feathers grow in good chance they will lay like they are supposed to. Worth a try.
But he sure does look great. Thanks so much for updating. Does he mingle with the other ducks with your supervision?

Thank you!

He doesn't mingle with the other ducks, as it doesn't seem to matter if we are standing there or not, they immediately go after him. It's really sad to watch. He does, however, hang out with our golden retriever, Sara, a couple times a week while we are filling his bath. They seem to get along well. He tries to preen her

As for his wings, he can't extend them like the other birds can, so I think it's more of a bone deformity. It doesn't seem to bother him, though.

This is extremely edited, as the original was very dark. But this is the best picture I seem to be able to get of his wings. I marked in black the extreme curvature of the wing, in hopes that you can tell me if this is normal or it is actually a deformity. He's filling out more, so it is only REALLY noticeable anymore when he is wet. Maybe it just looked weird because he was underweight?

Well it doesn't look like the extreme angel wing I have seen pics so I really don't know it could just be an abnormality of the bone. It sure won't hinder his life in any way. So i wouldn't worry about it at all. I'm happy to hear he has made a friend in your Golden, we've had a few they are the best dogs.
