I have 5 SLW chicks, they are 9 weeks old, this one has the most developed wattles, I know these can be tricky to guess properly, but any early guesses?

I can try to get better photos, the stillest I can get these little buggers is when they roost. 🙄

So you caught her? 🤣
Yup! And it's about time! But wow, such a guessing game right to the end 😳

I'm going to miss this thread though, big thanks to you, @HorseGirlAbby and @NanaK for joining in!

I do have 13 silkie chicks that are 6 weeks old now, it will soon be time to start guessing on them 😃 there are a couple with thickened combs already so must cockerels (well, after the Cappy Llama journey, maybe I can't be so sure), and one is a sexlinked color so I know he's a cockerel. They are super adorable, from a local breeder so they are extra floofy!

So, the original chick I was posting about was Microvenator, this one is Silvisaurus.

*edit* now I'm second guessing myself and these might be photos of Micro as well, I'll have to get individual photos of them and their leg bands tomorrow.

The rightmost chick in the photo would be Littlefoot, I'll see if I have solo photos of "her".

The one of the left can be an Arrow Laced Wyandotte. 🤣 ugh, TSC suckered me in, we had two GLW a few years ago that both ended up being cockerels but were very well laced, not from TSC but I'm not sure what hatchery they used. I was so excited to get SLW and had all these fancy images in my head about having these beautifully laced striking looking chickens in the yard 😍 lol, good one TSC 😂

Thank you!
I think your *girls* :fl are just lovely, too!

I know nothing about silkies except they are so cute!
That's were it all starts, they lure you in with their cuteness and next thing you know you're hatching 22 more and reading all you can find about them 🤣

@Tookie the story may be continuing 😅 So, I took a closer look at the two boys and Cappy, now I'm on the fence again 🥴 I haven't seen Cappy grabbing at the girls since that first morning I moved the boys out. I saw the boys have definite saddle feathers, I didn't get a photo but I will try to remember tomorrow. Cappy doesn't. They are 15 1/2 weeks old now.
I'm thinking cockerels maybe...🤔

This is so hard. 🤣

This is what makes it fun. I'm glad I'm not in a hurry to have to know one way or the other 🤣 if it is a cockerel and it never crows, maybe I could start a new line of "city" chickens for those who want a rooster but aren't supposed to have them. I could call them Silent Silkies or City Non-Cluckers.
