SLW when will laying happen?

I have 2 SLW hens, I don't know how old they are, but they are very mature looking! Lol! I can get pictures tomorrow, getting dark here, but I have heard that they take longer to lay then other hens? They aren't squatting or anything, and I am wondering if the stunted egg laying si because it is getting into winter, and they haven't played yet, so maybe that is why it is taking so long? When will they lay? Thank you! I know there are a lot of these threads!

Laying will happen when it happens.
They are closer than they've ever been!!
Knowing their age, in weeks, and what you are feeding might help.

I also have 2 slw gals. Mine started squatting a few weeks before the first egg. I have also heard slw take a little longer to mature. These are my first chickens so I have no comparison personally.

35/36 week Columbian Wyandotte and no egg from her yet, either. Comb is bright red, has been for weeks, but it’s been slow to fill out. I think the comb on my EE that is 25 weeks has filled out more in the last week than my CW’s has. I do a pelvis check every couple of days and have been consistently at 1.5 fingers for a month or more. Pretty frustrating as she’s the last of my 4 to lay, but I’m going with it cuz not much else to do
