I have one chick(6 wks old) that did not feather out like it's siblings. It has a few feathers and the fluff seems to be growing longer. It is a lot smaller than the rest as well, but I see it eating and drinking.

Has anyone seen this before?

huh. Its interesting isn't it. By any chance did you have a bought of Cocci? Last year we had one that was a whole bird smaller, less feathers (really sickly- not like yours) and after a while she gained up with the others. Lets hope your little one does too!

This is my first batch of chicks so it could been sick and I had not noticed. It does not seem sick and I see it muscles in to get food so I was just think a slow grower. The fuzz growing longer seemed odd which got me wondering.

They are beautiful birds.
It sounds like she's just a runt. Make sure she gets enough food and the others don't push her out of the way. My runt turned into the Queen Chicken.
