Small Flock Thread Anybody?

Wow, that's pretty complicated. You'd better watch your bio-security there.

Has anyone used these feeders? http://www.mypetchicken.com/catalog/Chicken-Supplies/Solid-Bottom-Feeder-7-42-oz-capacity-p603.aspx
I've
been struggling to find a no-spill feeder for a long time, and every time I think I've got the trick, something happens. I have so many feeders! Do they work well?

I use those when I go to poultry shows. They do work but if the feed were to run the low the slope is too much for the bantams to get the very bottom of the feeder, unless it really low to the bottom of the cage.

Hi,
frow.gif
. I have a small flock, for now

. I have 7 buff orps named: Wally, Joanie, Blossom, Autumn, Marigold, Maybell, and Dixie! And I have 3 cochins: Lil Lily a barred, Rose a white, and Daffodil a buff!

I had 17 to start 10 BOs, the 5 cochins and to EE “packing peanut” roos.
I sold the EEs to a friend and lost 3 BOs to a dog

and had to cull 2 cochins

Anyway the 10 will be 7wks on tuesday and have been in the coop for a week now! I love them all so much and each 1 has its own attitude.

I have a small flock too! I have 3 hens, 2 Pekins and a PekinxSilkie. Mabel, Betty & BrickHilda. I'm looking to get another Pekin hen. 4 is a nice round number

new2chickens2011- Cute! Would love some pics! Did you get them sexed? You might be able to tell the sex on some of those breeds by seven weeks, you should post a few pics so we can see!

Posted some pics in the What Breed/Gender is this section! *Fingers crossed that they're all pullets!*

Great idea

We have four hens - RIR mixes, BR mixes - and two SS roosters. They're our Craigslist chickies, hatched in May, and have been laying long enough for me to wonder if store bought eggs are okay to eat. I love chickens!! May we never be without them

I'm the first in my immediate neighborhood with chickens and we have six. I'm hoping to eventually add two more for egg color variety and may raise and sell baby chicks next spring. However, we are living rurally but in a regular neighborhood, on a regular sized lot. Our girls have names and we love them as pets.

I would love to join.
I have 2 RIR BANTAMS, they are 7 mths. old and just started to lay little yummy eggs.
I have 5 baby chicks that I bought from a lady, she got a mixture of hatching eggs from Ideal...........1 is a Silver laced Wydonette....2 are Ameraucanas..........2 are Black Austrolops. They are 3 weeks old, and so adorable.........
I have 5 Cortinix quails......there eggs are so yummy and tiny....
11 parakeets.........none are tame and they haven't laid any eggs for me yet, but they sing great songs for me.
I have an aviary and a free range area on my side yard. I love my birds.

CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST A PIX????????????????

I live in a neighborhood...like your average one but with nice sized lots. But I think I am past the small flock point? I still consider to have one though. I have a mixed outdoor flock of 14 large fowl. And indoors I have 9 seramas and a bantam ee.
