Small shavings? Or the bigger kind?

I use the brand of pine shavings that TSC sells, and they're a bigger flake....Kind of larger, curly and quite fluffy. I like that kind much better than the smaller stuff.

Yeah, isn't the dust awful? Alot of it's chick dander.......Believe it or not......Seems to get everywhere, doesn't it?

I use the smaller ones when they are itty bitty, but in my coop I use the big ones!!

Larger shavings - barely any dust, small chicks cannot eat them and seems like you don't see the poop as quickly. I have three brooders in my house and they works wonderfully!

I use new white sand (mini grit). Got a dump truck full to resand the barn with alot left over. I love it.

I was using the smaller ones, and recently I got the big ones from TSC. I like it better than the brand that is sold here called "Americas Choice"

I'm thinking of using the equine pine pellets when we get our bebes. We'll still elevate the water though, probably on a 2-by or something...

I tried raising the water. they still got shavings in it, and dumped it. I got tired of it and taught them how to drink out of a hamster water bottle
