Smelly coop

Honestly, the mulch covers it up! I am used to the odor mostly, but it can get bad. It truly is amazing how fast it goes away after it is put down.
I like this idea, does the mulch break down quickly I don’t want a huge pile of smelly wet build up

My run is open and I have been putting all the pineshavings from the inside in the run for a while now and it had built up great!! I live in FL so it always rains here and we no longer have an issue with mud. We will also take the dry leaves and throw them in the runs. I try to feel them in the run so they scratch the ground up in there from time to time. When ever I put the new shavings(the used ones from the inside) they spend hours scratching them and spreading them out.

Yes! They love it!

The method works so good that my ducks sleep in my run at night and there is absolutely no smell to it at all. I also use this in my quail pens (those guys stink BAD) and it has made the smell completely go away and they enjoy the leaves and bugs in them.
