Hi I have 3, 7 week old Faverolles. 2 of them really smell around the head area it's an awful sweet sickly smell, any ideas and what can be done for this. Thanks everyone.

Check their crops first thing in the morning before they have a chance to eat. They should feel empty. If not look up sour crop, impacted crop on here. I have never dealt with it but lots of others here have

If there is any mucous discharge from the eyes or nose, or swollen face that is infectious coryza. Comes with a bad smell. If you want to treat for coryza, it can go away eventually, but they will carry the diaease for life and it can reappear later in life. My flock has several members with infecrious coryza, but none are showing symptoms now.

Check to see if their muffs smell - could be a combination of food/water getting stuck to their muffs??

For them to have a smell for 7 weeks and not show more symptoms if it were sour crop, but I would make sure the crops are emptying and smell their breath, look inside their beaks for any lesions too.

Do you have any photos of them?

Crops are empty smell has almost gone so just gave them some scrambled egg. No lesions.
