Coker Creek here. I have a small layer flock, 12 American Game,10 pair OEGB,a trio of Rosecomb and a RIR chick hatched out last week with 13 TOES!! I don't know how to post pictures but if anyone wants to see it and take some pics I would be happy to meet you in Tellico Plains, Madisonville,Athens area.Has UT Animal Science Dept baffled. Took he/she to Gatlinburg Monday to Guiness Records, waiting to see if it is a record. The local kindergarden class had a name the special chick contest and the winning name is Toe Knee.

I hope you make the Guiness Records. Good luck to you and Toe Knee!

i just unfortunately have pigeons now (though land lord said i could have a couple hens), they are quieter and easier to let loose and then recal from air, and roof , except recently they seem to be attracting ducks right to my back and front doors.. lol I hope to soon move (mold and flooding ect again in this area.. anyone know of areas between sevierville and morristown that doesnt have bad black mold problems and allergies at these times?), and again have bantam chickens. i know a close keepers of bantam araucaunas that wants to give me a trio at least, and i want to again have rosecomb bantams, but hopefully in beautiful original black. maybe mix silkies hens with the amauraucana roos (hopefully making them extra weird and fluffy mutts, maybe try to breed in some grouse footing on them like black copper kettle marans). i gave him a him a nice little pair of fly and performing black birmingham rollers, that he says are doing a lot better in breeding ect for him than the large show winners and competition birmingham roller pairs he had reserved already and paid a large sum for, and now just recently gave two beautiful large showy muffed and crested roller hens and two good looking roller cocks. so he keeps saying i can have some from his pairs of birm rollers and/or some chickens whenever i want.

laughingdog-

I think this area in general is horrible for anyone suffering from allergies. I can't remember exactly but it seems like we rank either in the top 10 or 20 worst places for allergy suffers.

I hope you are able to get some chickens again. I really enjoy mine.

Can anyone suggest a good quality incubator that doesnt take up a huge amount of space? I have been using the tsc one but havent had much luck in hatching multiple species as in they are fine for turkeys but very low on ducks even with fertility checks.

add circulating fan and don't forget to turn, and it will work wonders. There is also the hoverbator but it is expensive for bator, fan, turner, etc. I would take what ya have from tsc and build a wooden bator with its element and controls

I have the hovabator one that has the turner in it. Hatches out I think 42 chicken eggs. Works real well. Right now I am waiting on a big outdoor kennel that we are getting from family up North before I put eggs in too hatch. I should be getting it next week once hubby comes back home from driving and he goes up to get MIL and stuff.

On another note how is everyone doing with the wacky weather? I know yeaterday the storms got some people but I do not think it was as bad as the predicted. At least I hope it was not for you all.

We had some heavy rain and storms but I didn't think it was anything out of the norm for this time of year. Glad it wasn't too bad for you too.

I have the same hovabator and am trying it for the first time, as a matter of fact its my first ever attempt at hatching eggs.
