SNAKE!!!(now a dead snake) Snake lovers, don't look.

Good on ya! I am eternally mystyfied by a lot of BYCrs willingness to kill ANYTHING that so much as looks at their precious chickens. That said I am very glad we don't have venomous snakes here. I might be tempted to relocat one to a wildlife management area. In 20 years on my 20 acres I have seen only garter and red bellied snakes. Garters are harmless and red bellied are even more harmless.

Ill call ya the next time a 4ft long copperhead, one of the most aggressive snakes around, slithers out from a wood pile.

Also, Most people have a great deal of time and money wrapped up in their chickens. I would not take any different steps if I had seen that snake around my horses or cows or any other of my "precious" animals.

And as always, I may be wrong, relocating is not a good idea.

I am one of those uneasy around snakes of ALL sorts.
My DH is teaching me how to use a shot gun..... since I can't get close enough to use a shovel or anything......

We haven't had a snake YET.....BUT I will be ready.

All these people who love snakes so much....y'all can have my share of them. I don't care how good you tell me they are, I don't want any around me or my house. Dead Snake= Good Snake

Call me crazy, I have seen enough of killing, yelling, hating, screaming, war, genocide, religous persecution, war for religion, war for conquest, war for tiddlywinks, intolerance, drugs etc. I am 62 yrs old and all I would like is a little joy from the universe. I HATE spiders but I have been known to wrap them up and let them go outside. Call me crazy, I don't care.

What load were you using? My buddy has a 686 just like that one. It's always fun to put magnum at the end of wheel full of 38's and let someone have a try

I have a few of those 38 shotshell loads that would be perfect for snakes but haven't had cause to try them out.

PS--- I don't kill anything that I don't intend to eat, doesn't pose a real and direct threat to me or mine, or doesn't really PO me. Don't care how many legs it has either.

2-Thanks for posting pic. I have seen that snake in my backyard, and thought it was a good snake. OOPS!! (i usually find rattle snakes, nests, every year back there, so i was kinda stoked to find the other snake, thinking, cool, a non-venomous snake.

I would love to see some of these people that love poisonous snakes & want to relocate them to be chased by a ticked off cottonmouth . Believe Me NOT fun. Don't get me wrong I'm a person that feeds my rat snake eggs when she has eaten all the rats around hear. Your lucky if you live where their is no poisonous snakes .But the people that do need to do what they have to ,to keep safe.

i don't think it's crazy, i do that too. with a cup and a piece of paper...
I have an agreement with spiders in my house.
IF they are big (and thus, able to be identified), they can live (except, of course, black widows

). I will relocate them if they insist on hanging out in my bedroom. I do this a lot. I must be a spider magnet or something.

If they are so small that I can not tell if they are brown recluse or not, and are so foolishly letting me see them in my home, then sorry, they have to die. I've had 3 neighbors in two years bitten by brown recluse. really Nasty wounds.

centipedes are no longer welcome in my presence, since i've had them in my bed 4 times, and an 11 incher in my horse's feed trough! had one fall on my pillow, two crawl across me while sleeping
th.gif
and had one curled up under my pillow. centipede bites HURT!!! so, they must die. I must be a centipede magnet as well.

i welcome spiders outside, come one come all. and rat snakes, yay!!!
rats aren't welcome either, after they got under my hood and did $600 worth of damage.

Cottonmouths are 10 times more aggressive in the wild...been chased by one across a canal, foot bridge and my yard.

Copperhead and Cottonmouths are not to be messed with.
