Sneezing and Wheezing cockerel *Video

She only does chickens occasionally yes, she was clear that she's no expert.

They told her that the ivermectin topically will handle all likely worms. She said she was a bit skeptical about that. But deferred to their advice.

I did 2 tsp powder per gallon from the 18th to the 29th. I was still seeing yellow poop Saturday for sure. Now that I've been collecting a sample I only find solid, dark cecal, and a few that looked like cecal and regular combined. Could the corid have solved it finally?

Also she said 3 more days of Tylan injections, so 4 total. Never injected a chicken before, sub cutaneous though so seems simple enough.

Here's the dosage, .65 looks like.

He seems ok, wheezy but not overly distressed.

Updated poop I just found.
Yellowish but not foamy that I'm seeing

Ivermectin *will not* effectively deworm, this I do know... I am not a vet, but Kathy has studies on it not being an effective dewormer... but also, personal experience myself, I use it for lice and mites and my flocks STILL became overloaded with gapeworm after Ivermectin treatments...

I will have to look up Corid dosages to check...

Tylan SubQ?? I *thought* it was supposed to be IM? Also, be aware Tylan *could cause* injection site necrosis, monitor the injection sites...

I know she wasn't done talking about the worm thing pending test results, she was not satisfied wth that either. Maybe the thought was ivermectin in case there's a mite load contributing? Just a guess about how vets who haven't seen him, consulting on the phone, might think.

I'm feeling alarmed and disappointed that what's coming out of such a great vet school is lacking. And necrosis? That's nothing I'd risk without impending death being the option!

You're very welcome, just hope something of it helps...

Considering the pet status, I would be tempted to throw whatever I could at him to see what helps, lol...

Personally, I would get one of the broad spectrum dewormers before antibiotics, just cuz it's a less invasive treatment... see if that helps first, then go from there... but if you're getting float done, wait for those results... wish I had more for you... :hmm
