So...broomstick was a failure

You could always go the ted nugent direction. Gently pet the bird till its relaxed...turn it over on its back in your hands. Then lift it over your head and wack its skull against a rock or brick a couple of times...sounds grusome I know...but it is very quick! And in the end that is what this is all about..the quickest and cleanest death possible.
Illia I can understand your concerns but not every bird is going to do what you had experienced. It IS quick if you are confident and sure. Any doubts you have, well, it wouldn't work. I've tried the loppers and it failed, even brand new ones with the guilitine style...bird suffered.

As for me, I've done it on baby chicks, it was so quick, and LIGHTS OUT! We do the same thing for rabbits, a heavy hammer back of the head to render its unconsciousness then we quickly bleed it out. Works every time for us.
