So, how many of you live in urban settings?

I live in a suburban neighborhood of Los Angeles. Where do you live? Rural area? Suburb? Urban? If you live in an urban setting, how do your neighbors feel about your chickens?

Well.....................

I live in a new subdivision out in the middle of farm country. Go figure

I'm right in the middle of St. Louis city.
All our neighbors love the chickens and say their grandma,
aunt, or some close relative used to have chickens when they where little.

i live in the country, well i mean we have neighbors but not real close by. we have 13 acres and the back of our land backs up to the national forest! so we only have neighbors on each side but we can't see them there are our own woods blocking all that! our land is rectangle shaped so it is long and plenty wide enough for us.
it kills me though some of the people out here build there homes right by the road. why do that? if you move to the country where there is land why do that? it is your land and you are not in a neighborhood. and your kids are not right by the busy road or your pets!

I live Smack Dab in the middle of a city. Unfortunately, there is a law against owning poultry here so I have to keep all 98 of my birds out at my grandma's house. She lives on 1.3 acres, and I've kept my chickens there my whole life.

The Awesome news is that she signed the property over to my Father so we are building a house out there and I will finally live with my birds!

Dense suburban neighborhood in Southern Maine with lots under 5,000 sq feet on average. We're trying to get our zoning changed to allow chickens as per Madison WI, and other urban areas. We want the to be regulated as pets, since that is how they'll be raised. Already several other chicken owners (secret) in town... http://www.SoPoChickens.org

I live in RA (rural agricultural). We have just over 4 acres with our house tucked behind 1 acre of trees so we can't see the road. My chickens are probably too close to the house according to zoning ordinance, but I like to keep my eye on them.
