Hi everyone,
I am about to embark on a journey into the world of chickens, primarily for our 4 kids (from 11 to 5) who are eagerly awaiting their arrival. I'm looking at Speckled Sussex and Golden Comet (aka red star) varieties. Seeking qualities, hardy (live in Ireland), sociable (easy handling for kids) and good layers (only getting 2-3 birds and we love eggs!). Any advice welcome, hoping to buy tomorrow at a fowl show.
