So i've got a thing for roosters.... lol (Pic Heavy)

I have NO idea where to post this. Anywho, i LOVE LOVE LOVE roosters, i love when they crow and i love how they protect their gals. I dont care too much for hens really, i love the roosters long saddle and tail feathers. I hug all of the roosters i can.

I currently have 8 roosters

#1 is a pet silkie

#2 is a giant barred cochin

#3 is giant buff orpington

#4 is a white frizzle

#5 & 6 are a golden neck d-uccle and a buff columbian d-uccle

#7 is a SL polish roo

#8 EE mix

I had 3 others, but sadly the dog ate them!!! agh!


i do still have a ton of cockerals, most i wont be keeping.

eventually id like to be a "rooster rescue/sanctuary)


and will take any rooster from you.

soon i will be getting a Black Cooper Rooster from a friend.

At least he has that going for him!! We are down to one roo now but our eggs are starting to hatch, maybe we will get a few. I think one of our Japanses bantams is a roo or at least I hope so.
I also think that a sanctuary is a good idea, you're braver than I am. It would be nice for them though, so many people just don't want them or even know what to do with them besides make them dinner.

I would never eat my roosters. Unless... the government goes to heck (worse than it is now) and i run out of food from barrackading (sp?) myself in the house. LOL

But seriously my roosters are pets and i love them.

oh, trust me you are NOT the only one! i LOVE COCKERELS! i really wish i could get some more boys and i definitely WILL when we order more chickens. your EE mix and your fleur d'uccle are my favorites! you have some pretty boys there!

i really want to get at least one of each of these(roos or course)

silver Onagadori (seriously, do a google image search. THOSE TAILS! that's a roo after my heart!)
Saipan jungle fowl (to protect my girls and because they're handsome
EE (just because...)
Japanese black-tailed white bantam (they're cute)
silver polish (also just because)
white Yokohama (a more common long-tailed breed similar to phoenix)
white leghorn (beautiful! and to breed with my brown leghorns to see what hatches)
barred rock bantam (my mom hates large barred rocks, but i love the feathers)
Cuckoo maran (for my cuckoo maran ladies

)
Black sumatra (they're beautiful!)
Ayam Cemani (black skin, bones, meat, blood and organs. they don't even exist in the US but it is my dream)
