so my car just got stolen... updated - see page 3

yep. i just got into bed and heard some clunking noise outside my window. the car sits 15 feet from the window.

i go to look out and as i look, i see the car go bye bye.

i got up, put some clothes on, got in the other car and took off after them, but the 45 seconds i took to get out there gave them enough time that i had no idea at all which way the went.

if only i could have looked about 10 seconds earlier. all the rage over the many stolen stereos, broken windows, and the one other time this same car got stolen would certainly have found an outlet on this person's head.

oh well i'll just bottle it up for the next poor thief.

anyway now i'm up til the police come and take the report.

i'll call tomorrow about the waterer

about 30 cars a month get stolen from this neighborhood and they ALL get recovered. they rarely get got out of driveways though. i'm hopeful it comes back. i just spent $300 on a new radiator today !

I'm really sorry. Humans can be such low life forms. A pox on their heads!!

When I was a kid my mom was gravely ill and in the hospital in ICU with pneumonia (she did eventually recover, thankfully). We were at the hospital to visit her. While there, some low life actually had the bad taste to steal our car from the hospital parking lot, as if people aren't having a hard enough time as it is if they're in hospital parking lot to begin with!

It is possible your car is nearby, abandoned, and "stripped". May be worth driving around.

Anyway, I am sorry this happened.

I remember you mentioning this before. What is it about your neighborhood that causes so many car thefts?

If they all get stolen and all get recovered that's some ne who joy rides in'em all night and leaves them some where.

I hate when that happens.

In AZ they have chop shops that tear a car down within a day to sell for used parts.

We here about one being closed down regularly. That or the stolen cars end up in a Semi crossing a lonely part of the border going south.

I had a truck stolen once. It was recovered, minus custom wheels and tires, lift kit, stereo, half the engine, the seats. But they left my Bing Crosby christmas tape and Sound of Music soundtrack.
