So...My fears.

STEP AWAY FROM THE TURKEY. I too am scared of gypsies. Only because my wife is only two generations removed from Hungarian caravan gypsies. True fact, and she is a scarey woman. She can read my mind and thereby forces me to behave. Oh, if I only knew what I was getting into 47 years ago.

You must have seen an attack turkey movie.

Nah...I've been chased by my friends turkeys before. She finally told me to run back at him. Cause he would haul butt straight for me. So I did! I had to do it a few visits but after that he never chased my behind again. I would have cooked that butterball by then.

I am also the one who kills themhe spiders, but hubby is not afraid of them, he just don't believe in killing them. Well since I found a brown spider in my desk at work when I was younger (all the hype about the brown recluse), Sorry but I am killing those suckers. Unless they are microscopic and running out my door.

I don't care for snakes at all, but I can't say I am really afraid of them. I just walk the other way if I see one. Besides ....I grew up in Chicago in the 70's and 80's.

When I was little, my parents would tell my brothers and I when we were bad that the gypsies were coming to take us away. And now THEY CREEP ME OUT. I honestly cannot even think of them without getting the creeps. I have goosebumps right now as I'm typing this. I am sure they are all very nice people... They have never done me wrong nor did they ever try to kidnap me in the middle of the night... but they terrify me.

It's definitely not good to have something in your yard you're afraid of. That's not the way to overcome the fear, if this is what you want -- not at all fair to the turkey, if nothing else. Please don't do this.

Oh if we hatched one, and I decided a turkey wasn't for me I have a friend who raises them that he'd live happily with. It was more a passing thought though, as I'm waay too chicken to actually go through with it.

To cure our fears, we must face them. Buy a dozen fertile turkey eggs and stomp on them. I'll send my wife the 25% Gypsy to visit, and she can take you shopping up and down the escalator. Honest, she is the queen of all shoppers or is that Gypsies?

LOL I couldn't do that! Poor little fertile turkeys! I might fear them, but don't want to be mean to them.

I might be able to do the shopping, as long as she doesn't laugh at my jumping on and off the escalators.
