So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

@ Luna- I think you pushing the sun this way, and me pushing the rain that way might be the cause of all those tornadoes. Guess we should stop for a bit and see if it evens out

@ jj- OUCH, feel better soon!

@ Bt03: Thanks for joining us, hope we can be there for you! Trust me, if you don't keep us updated these folks'll come after you!

It's gonna be up to you to be your dad's advocate and translator. That's a hard position to be in, but I know you are up for it, or you wouldn't have posted- we'll be here for you

@ debiraymond- I used to love working at CHOC! That was one of my favorite ERs, and yes, the docs are 'easy on the eyes' *sigh*

Okay, my turn.
Chemo day one was yesterday, went off without a hitch. The Cisplatin is a very low dose, but they started me on Emend anyway, to my relief. Came home with a headache and pain all across my sacrum & what I would imagine to be my kidneys.

Queasy all day today with a raging headache. I think the headache is allergies, took a sudaphed, hoping it helps. Managed to get over to a massage appointment that i mistakenly made for today- BEST THING EVER! I felt SO much better after the massage.

Radiation day 3 today, and not noticing any changes there yet.

Hope all is well with everyone~ goodnight!

That hospital and one Dr. German saved my son's life. He had bad cramping for several days and I was told he was constipated. His white count was high so I knew there was more, but gave the poor kid an enema. I planned on taking him in to ER in the morning. By morning he couldn't walk.

His appendix had burst, and by the grace of God, his bowel had thickened and encapsulated the poisons in one spot, which was slowly leaking out causing his pain.

7 days in the hospital the first time to heal him and then 3 more when he had surgery to correct the bowel. THAT was a nightmare and the staff at that hospital have my eternal gratitude. They made the ordeal tolerable. If one has to spend time in a hospital with your child, pray it happens in Orange, CA.

Hi All,
I know I have been MIA, work does that to you. I am not complaining, I have work, so many don't.

So much has happened here since I last checked in..... Wow, huh.

Everyone fighting the fight, you are in my thoughts and I am sending good vibes. I haven't forgotten you all, just busy.
May all of you have a good weekend.

PS, I still have moonflower seeds I am trying again this year. I am not having good luck with the weather thought. Memorial Day weekend and I am still in longjohns and wool socks.

I've been away from the computer for a while.

ORP - I wish you the best of luck on that biopsy! I'm glad you're doing something about it, it may be nothing, or it may be something.............I hope you let us know how it goes.

I'll be thinking of you. You were always there for me when I was worrying, I'd like to be there for you.

Nurse - so glad you are handling everything OK. Did I read it right? You're doing chemo & radiation at the same time?? How's it going now?

Deerman, so glad you chimed in, I've been thinking about you. How are you doing?

JJ - I've also been thinking of you! I hope things (situations) have not caused you any stress. I figure, no news is good news! How are your birds? Hopefully your neighbors have been good?

Coyote - I've been SO BUSY it's nuts. I have 8 or 9 garden beds to tend to and of course they all needed an amazing amount of work this year, as last year I didn't do much with them. Well, I'm paying for that now. Oy. Besides that, DH & I are getting our business ready to hand over to another owner, and we've been getting jobs done etc. and we'll be officially retired as of June 23

Besides all that stuff - I had a broody hen to contend with and unfortunately a sick hen.
sad.png
It took 5 weeks for the broody to stop and the sick hen is an internal layer and I can't do much to help her. Every morning when I go out to check on them, she's still in the coop resting on the floor. She still enjoys her fav foods and getting out to dust bathe. Poor baby.....I'm gearing up to find her stiff on the coop floor one of these mornings.

That cartoon!

Luna, guess thing are ok , have to wait until next tests, but looks like the chemo pills are keeping the cancer from spreading. little weaker but heck that maybe because im 125 years old now.....
lol.png
the pills side affect also make the skin darker, think i will sell them as tanning pills...but at $5,000.00 for 3 weeks supply would be just a little to much for a tan.
lol.png

ready to take another flight , not sure where yet....maybe back to Vegas

Yeah, I know what you're saying.......I'm waiting on a blood test for results, DH & I went at the same time and they called when his results were in (RA & stuff for him) and I didn't hear anything yet........the waiting
he.gif
I figure if they didn't call then I'll get a good news report in the mail. Still........
hmm.png

So you must look like a healthy & wealthy 125 year old

Going to Vegas heh??? I've never been there. Where ever you venture off to I hope you have a grand time. Just stay away from those naugthy showgirls and them big ceegars. On second thought, have fun with those showgirls and have a ceegar and make sure you have a smooth whiskey with that.
