Coyote, I will give that a try. She will have to slow down to find the kibble. I have some large smooth -too big to swallow- rocks. I just have never had dinner 'time' be in the nanoseconds before. It is disturbing.
I had a dog that would swallow the raw hides and pig ears whole, and then spend the week at the vets, so I am watching her carefully. She has the sharpest, largest carnassial teeth that I have ever seen on a dog. I think she needs to chew. She was eating the rubber bits from the tennis ball (ex tennis ball) and I decided raw hide would pass easier than ball shards. The Shepard plays with the smallest little bit of dead ball. She'll bring you fluff to toss for her, but Sadie just eats it. maybe once Sadie knows that food will always be offered twice a day, she'll ease up on the ingesting of 'non food' items.
