So this happened today....

went to the flea market for more hens and fell in love with these silkies. The guy was selling off his flock. They swore to me they were all hens. So I trusted and I already love them they are so sweet

#1 and #3 are cockerels. #2 may be a pullet. None are silkies, though they all may be Silkie mixes.

I have my doubts that they are all girls but I’ve heard they are easier to keep multiple Roos with. They are so freaking tame and loving and I’ve only had them a few hours. He said they were already laying

I've never heard of 'Western Silkies'. Your three lack the hookless gene, which is what gives Silkies the fluffy look you see on my Avatar boy, who is himself not show standard. The two boys also have white skin, rather than dark. They're just mixes, but pretty mixes and now you have your two boys, I'm sure you will be able to hatch some pullet chicks if you wish to do so.

Yeah yeah now I’m bummed but oh well it is what it is and I guess I’ll just see how all this plays out since I’m now discouraged

I’m tempted to go back and bitch at guy I have 4 total but I got screwed. It doesn’t matter though since I’m an animal

Still, they are really kind of cute! Silkies make the most adorable mixes ever... I like the one with the black spots, looks like mixed with appenzeller spitzhauben... I had a Silkie/Americauna mix that had regular feathers, a top-knot, feathered feet and Americauna buff coloring... A beautiful sweet bird and layed a green egg.
