Your daughter is lovely and the dress is beautiful. I love the colors and all the detail in the back. What fun I had reading this thread. I only have boys -- so no pink overlays for me.

I have been watching this thread from the beginning, and I had my doubts. But Dawn, you have produced a GORGEOUS gown!

Just a thought but have you thought about making the tie in the back out of the pink and black? You could have pink be the top where it loops through the hoops then at the bottom where you are going tie the bow, make that the shimmery black. It would give you definate definition to the back tie up part on the bodice and also the pink would flow down the back You could use pink with black backing for the actual bow part. I don't know just a different idea.

Love the little black bow at the slit!!! Slick!

Hi Everyone!
So the dance is on Saturday!

And I haven't spent one minute on it since I last posted!!! They kept changing the dates on it between Dec & February... looked like it was going to be February, but apparently not! I have just a few days to complete the following:

Sew up the slit in the back
Sew the hem
Install the zipper (yes it's still just pinned on there)
Buy black satin & make it into a ribbon to tie up the corset
Attach the front gems & two black satin bows in the back
and finally to attach the waist trim ribbon.

Today I have to run to "town" to get some black satin... I'm thinking that blanket trim would be just PERFECT for the job. Hopefully they have that or some other options, I have very limited time frame and the drive one way is nearly an hour!

Keep sending me those good vibes.... as promised I will post finished photos.
I'm down to the wire....

Her date has changed...

She is now going with her good friends boyfriend because her good friend has to leave for Florida the day before & can't go. He'll still be in his blues, but there will be no "romance" factor... or at least that is my and her friends hope
