So what are your Christmas dinner plans/traditions?

My DH's family always opened all their gifts on Christmas Eve (after he was too old for the Santa thing), so, since we don't have kids, that is what we do.

We had our Christmas dinner yesterday, just DH and I. I made turkey breast, baked potatoes, turkey gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, and served it with rolls. For dessert, we had cake balls. (I'll post some pics of those later; mmmm).

Tomorrow we're going to my parents' house for a Christmas party. It will be fun.

When I was younger, my family and I would drive to Denver, Colorado and stay at Winter Park. Everyday we would go skiing all day long. We had a condo there so we could stay however long we liked... (or afford). I remember going to the highest place, called Parson Bowl, and it was over 12,000 ft high! I skied all the way down

My family and I would also drive through the national park and watch all of the elk and moose and bighorn sheep. So much fun, but we sold the condo. It was worth the trip.

We do the turkey on Thanksgiving or ham. On Christmas we have posole and tamales. I made Christmas Tortes and bon bons this year and a small Buche Noel. We have my SIL's Hispanic family tradtions and our Welsh and German. Every now and then I throw in a Cherokee dish for my natural father's memorty.

We do our big thing Christmas eve went out and picked out about an 150 lb pig ,skinned it and put it on the cooker about 6:00 in the morning and ate her for supper and she was some good eating.

WOW! Sounds like a lot of good traditions out there!

I hope you all were able to stay safe and accomplish what you had planned to do for dinner. I myself, was so excited once I cooked that last thing on the menu, I wanted to do cart wheels!

It has been a week of nothing but cooking, but has been a lot of fun.

Wishing you all a Happy New year now!
