I'm so impatiently waiting. I go in each evening and when I see the empty nests I physically droop from the disappointment.

Ok, I got my first egg today. It's small. What does everyone do with these small beginner eggs?![]()
My sister in law gives them to her dogs as a treat because they are too small to eat.
This one might be about half size? I'd like to hear what you all do. Me? I might blow out the contents and paint it gold and mount it on a plaque for all the effort it took me to get to this point!

.... if you have the time, they make great novelty devilled eggs!
I tried for two Olive eggers, but they both turned out to be boys. I was bummed! The light egg has to be from the Buff Orpington. I don't think the Speckled Sussex is ready to lay yet, though I don't know much about that kind of bird. Her comb and waddles are very small for a 20 week old bird.Wow I love the Dark brown ones and the contrast of the BR egg too! Now ya need an EE for a really wild egg basket.
Ha haCCC,
Quit waiting and scramble those babies up! They're wonderful.
I'm a few weeks ahead of you (at least my red sex-links are) and I'm starting to get some really nice sized eggs. Made custard this morning, and the biggest one was a double yolker.
